Horse Lamps to the Rescue

Some people might be tempted to look at horse lamps and believe them to be mere accent fixtures made solely for entertainment purposes.  But think about it—nothing is more important to the overall look, feel, and ambiance of a space than lighting fixtures.  Far more than simple sources of illumination, table lamps and other light fixtures also set the decorative foundation of any interior design scheme.  In other words, if the ceiling light, table lamps, and other sources of illumination are dull and devoid of personality, the cumulative effect will be a loss of vitality in the space.

Are horse lamps the answer to a dull and drab space?  Well, for someone who loves Nature and spending their free time riding horses, then that answer would probably be yes.  Horses have been revered by people since our very beginning and their spirit, beauty, and enduring loyalty have always moved something deep within.  To create and/or reinforce a horse motif using table lamps, accent fixtures, and other lighting sources featuring the majestic creatures, you are imbibing the area with a subtle beauty and grace that will permeate throughout the entire décor.

The Americana Style of design features cultural motifs and icons as the central theme of the space.  Things like the drive-in theatre, Route 66, and even Clint Eastwood himself can all be used as the central theme of a room or home.  A horse lamp could be used as both the central theme or as a complementary, subtle enhancement to a related theme (for instance, if Clint Eastwood or even Westerns themselves were the main theme in an American Styled home, horse light fixtures could be used to help augment and reinforce the primary motif) as a means of unifying the space.

For someone not necessarily looking to redefine an entire space in the Americana tradition, animal-themed table lamps also make perfect gifts for children.  Both boys and girls will enjoy reading their favorite book alongside a deer or horse lamp and will possibly pass it along to their own children in later years as a cherished heirloom symbolizing their childhood.

Nature-themed table lamps also work well in cottages, lodges, cabins, or any home featuring a rustic décor.  Often complemented by wooden bases, these gorgeous lamps seem to seamlessly blend in with the surrounding décor while still enhancing the space with a subtle sense of natural beauty and wonder.  Set atop a matching end table or nightstand, a horse lamp imbues the area with majestic wonder of these noble creatures.

Indeed, horse lamps and any light fixtures that complement and beautify the surrounding décor will boost spirits and create a light, relaxing atmosphere.  Remember, the horse lamp does not need to help define the overall motif of a space but can also simply complement a larger theme in a subtle, yet meaningful way.
